You can never go wrong with JL...and Sony makes good portable and home electornics, but surprsingly they are a company to stay away from when it comes to car audio.

memphis 16-mc1000d
it is rated RMS at 300 x 1 @ 4 ohms, 600 x1 @ 2 ohms, 0r 1000 x 1 @ 1 ohm
It gives you flexiblity on set up and it is a small sized amp with loads of clean power. Check it out http://www.memphiscaraudio.com

I need a more powerful amp. I had a 8" kicker compVR hooked up to a MTX 251D runnin about 250W, but blew the sub somehow. I replaced it with a Kicker 8" L7 () which can take up to 450W RMS. Any ideas on an amp that will run 450 W @2ohms for relatively cheap?

sony way overates there power. max 1200 divide that by two for realistic output, and then divide that by two b/c it sony 300 watts. b/c its sony means you could get a 600 watt audiobahn that would be just as good if not better then a a sony 1200. i have a sony explode with two 10 L7 kickers so i speak from expeience.

Yeah but what does that have to do with his amp question?

Anyways, I have a bostwick 250.2 running to each of my alpine type R's. The amp runs 480 watts bridged at 4 ohms and is decently priced if you can find a dealer.
