Interior Pics - Matching Red Lighting

It never made sense to me that the main gauge pod lighting is red, yet everything in the center console is white. It just doesn't work for me. This being the case, I just finished converting everything such that the lighting now matches.

Worthy of note:

- Carbon Fiber shift boot and armrest cover
- Clean Mistu shift knob
- High mount auxillary gauges (Factory MR low position is useless)
- Matching red clock, gauge, climate control, and cig lighter lighting.

Oh geez. A lot of the guys on here have posted How-To's on how to do this. How did you do it? Did you use someone's how-to or figure it out yourself?

For the clock, climate control, ashtray and lighter, I used a simple, inexpensive kit put together by this user: Z_Lancer_Man.

For the gauges, I used two different size red diffusers intended for VDO gauges (needed two per bulb).

I have mine all red but for the mitsu 3pack.
What did you use for the 3 mitsu gauges to change those red?
Bulb replacement? Bulb caps? Film?

The head unit in my photos is a JVC Arsenal KD-AR600 CD/MP3/WMA Receiver, which can be had for $199 at www.crutchfield.com. It has a faux carbon fiber front and red lighting that make a perfect match with the carbon fiber accents in my interior.

I do business with Crutchfield because they supply a nifty adaptor that allows you to plug the unit in your existing factory harness - no cutting/splicing. You just go to Radio Shack and get a dozen or so 16 gauge male/female plug or spade connectors and match up the wires on both sides of the provided plugs.

And as for the carbon fiber shift boot, there's a guy on Ebay that sells them for ~$20. Mine even came with 'electron blue' accent stitching that matches the blue in the seats. It really looks nice.
