Softest Plastic in the World?

So I was doing some light cleaning today and noticed when I wiped the plastic that covers the gauges it scratched! I was using some wet paper cloth and it scratched it so that it's kind of hazy. It's noticable in daylight but not as much at night. Anyone have a Mitsu part number for this? It's going to irritate me to no end.

No idea on the part number, but try some plastic cleaner similiar to that used for yellowed headlights, it might work. How'd u manage to scratch it? I've never seen anyone scratch it by cleaning it before.

I think the owners manual tells you not to use paper towels on the guage plastic, because it'll scratch easily. Even cotton dust cloth, like a Swiffer will scratch the plastic.

Small bit of lint free cloth is best, like what the PSP ships with. I'm sure you can get it at any fabric/craft store.

It may have been my fault. I sprayed a little windex on the plastic then wiped, rather than spraying the windex on the cloth.

In other news, keep your gauges away from this guy!

Also beware of bounty...cleaned them last week and it scratched too, good thing I only did a little spot and then noticed.

Oh My!

Yea you guys are killing the plastic.
It's like wiping your sunglasses.
You should never use paper towels.

You still might be able to fix it. Go to an aquarium store that sells acrylic tanks and see if they have a scratch remover kit. You might be able to buff it away without buying a whole new piece.

Here we go, this is a good place to buy it. I'd definately recommend buying it from here vs a local pet store unless you can't wait.
