Talking Track School pix (56K bad)

***EDIT*** More pics from my friend's camera... Click here for photo album. ***END EDIT***

Went to a sweet track school yesterday at Gingerman Raceway. If you haven't been to one.. I HIGHLY suggest you go! You just won't understand how great the Evolution is until you brake hard, take the corners hard and work that turbo hard in 3rd/4th gear!

I'm still very much on high from the experience! Much props to CGImotorsports for a great time. Honestly, it didn't even really feel like a school but more like a "learning track day". I took some pics to share, but not enough cause I was busy driving, learning and drinking ALOT of Powerade. Enjoy!

This is what I woke up to the day of the track school, at the hotel. Silver R32 is from one of the instructors, she was pretty fast at the track! Black R32 is from one of my friends as well as the yellow Evo. My friend with the black R32 is one fast ****!!

I really didn't take too many pics of the nice cars that were there, but here's a nice M3. But unfortunately, it was wasted just parked there.

My instructor was a great guy and driver. Pretty much made me push myself from the get go and really get into driving my car for maximum fun. He had an awesome car that he brought with him. He took me out for a ride after my first drive and... wow!... like a freakin rollercoaster! And for those in the know... please explain what this car is all about.

And last one.. this was what I did for fun. To give my Evo alittle agressiveness on the track. Just to intimidate some of the slower people in my group.

It's just tape... don't worry...not permanent. it's off the car already.

To "fix" my first *pics not found* mistake... here are a few more pics for you to enjoy.

This race-built NSX was badass.

More of that black widebody M3

And finally... at dinner on the long drive home.

That's it for me. My friend should have more pics and some on track pics. Will post once I get some links for them.

Talking

1995 lightweight bmw m3 looks great. I forget the specifics but i THINK its just a normal m3 with different seats, front lip spoiler and some cf interior goodies.

WTF, I work about two minutes from that Perkins. I can't believe you ate there! What time were you guys there? My car was parked about 30 seconds away at the Best Western while I was attending the Dale Carniege course. Isn't Gingerman great?

chill out dude.. it was for fun! I was planning to tape up the headlights, but had to get to class.

money pit:
we were at that Perkins at around 7-8pm, I think. We left the track at around 6pm and yes... Gingerman is awesome. Great track. too bad the long drive home sucked cause I-94 is just fuct with construction.

and just FYI to those thinking about buying Hotchkis springs... they were GREAT on the Gingerman track! Can't wait to try them out at Grattan which has more elevation changes on the track.

Sick pics. Yeah the e36 lightweight m3's are nasty if built properly. Used to own, build, and race BMW's, and this is the sickest track car. Everyone raves about e30 m3's, and they are unreal, but the lightweights are special. The main difference between those and regular e36's is weight, obviously, with aluminum doors, CF body pieces, removal of AC, sunroof, radio, tool kit, spare tire, and other sound deadening material. Plus, the improved the suspension with a front strut brace, underbody cross brace, and a new rear axle ratio. Plus they only come in that white color with the M-color flags. Devastating on the track. However, in a Buschur stage 3 Evo, I walked on him in Tremblant and Limerock, and both of us are similar in track experience. The Evo pulls from apex out b/c of all wheel drive, but the lightweight beats it turning in because of its power oversteer tendencies. Sick pics, tho. Here's a few pics of my evo (black) and my buddy's (white) smoking some e36 m3's in Canada

I am glad you had fun. I was at gingerman about 1 month ago with windy city bmw. It was one of my funnest weekend of my life.

About that white bmw. I believe it is a m3 lightweight. It is a limited production m3 with the Euro motor and much lighter than regular e36 m3. The person drives that car is one of instructor from the windy city bmw.

Also, that red NSX was at gingerman same weekend as I was. I saw it lost its rear end at turn 11, and then recovered. He is also an instructor at windy city bmw.

Yeah Bob L. drives that lightweight M3. Cool guy and instructor. Only 85, race-built M3 Lightweights made it to the US. so it's very collectable, but I like Bob's cause he actually uses it!

Funny you mentioned that NSX losing it's rear end. This time around it lost it's front bumper/dam, but was quickly fixed up within the next few sessions. It's built by a shop in Illinois. The driver was pretty fast, but yeah turn 11 got a few cars coming in too hot. Actually turns 4,5,6 were my least friendliest spots.

HMSevo8:
yeah even my instructor was saying how great the Evo was on the track. I need ALOT more experience to be where you probably are right now, but the ride should be fun.
