Ram-Air for the Evo?

Just wondering, anyone considered porting out their hood for the intake on their Evo?

I had a similar mod on my 2g rx-7 13Bt, but the vent was in the headlight assembly

Think it would be difficult to open a similar port on the driver side hood and plumb the intake to it?
Any concerns with getting rain/H2O in the intake then?

Doesnt RMR make a carbon fiber hood scoop? Same thing as what you are asking for...

Close, but I was thinking of actually cutting a vent in the hood itself, similar to the headlight vent on the rx-7s

why would you cut a hole in your hood when there is a peice that will do it without cutting?

Check out the RMR entry pics. Its there. For the price its not worth it. And remember we have turbos, they suck air, ram air doesnt really apply to us. If you want a colder intake charge look into Cryogenics CryC02 intercooler sprayers or something of that nature. (http://www.martelbrothers.com/catalo...p-1-c-456.html) Otherwise you wont get much, if any, hp.

From a show or look aspect, sure it will make you car look different.

Do you think that those CryC02 things are really a noticeable gain?

Honestly, somewhat...its 90+ here today, and the heat index is over 100. Intercoolers only can reduce the temps by so much. I have an 05 - no water spray for my intercooler. Keeping the intercooler cool, or colder, will give you some hp. But less chance of detonation from the hot intake.

I wish it was winter.
