[QUOTE=EvoDriven][QUOTE=GDB]Just out of curiosity, why did you say "spare me the functional BS"?

Because nobody purchases a c-west bumper because they think it will make their car handle better...A different style bumper is there to change the style of the car.

Sure C-West is gonna claim to have wind-tunnel testing and this and that but all that is merely a marketing technique to get people to buy their product. Heck almost every product I've seen advertised for the evo has some performance oriented claim because the manufacturers know that evo owners will buy anything if they think it will make their car faster.

As for me I'm not a fan of body kits, but there are much nicer ones around than C-West...HKS Kansai, Valdisport, Varis, Gialla are the main ones that come to mind.

I'm strictly JDM though, and would prefer the stock evo 8 bumper with a CF lip OR the JDM Evo VII front end with CF varis lip.
Strictly "jaydeem" eh. Why not live in Japan since you want to follow their doemstic market so much. I know plenty of people that buy body modifications for race use. Yes many people claim their parts are performance oriented but only a few actually test them. You do know that C-west body parts are used on many of your JDM race series cars?

Test & Service is actually a shop/tuner. They are known for the yellow puma TS evo.

anyone who claims the design of the bumper itself reduced their laptime really have to wake up and smell the coffee....

im not saying its for show, i DO believe in cwest but hey lets get real. what you are mainly feeling is the about 20 lbs of weight removed from the best place possible on the evo (the front!!!).. thats why the RS doesnt have HID's, it saves alot. so basically your evo is getting closer to neutral handling and improving your laptime. ok signin off.

In a way I do believe your correct. Reducing weight does make your car feel neutral because of evos 60/40 (correct me if im wrong). However it wont make it to a 50/50 because of the weight right? But possibly... 57/43? Thus its still more front heavy and with the built in down force, the cwest produce more of a feel that the front of the car is full of grip also. This can be seen in front wheel drive cars with canards on their bumper. With the evos awd system I do believe that will be, in a way, the same as those front wheel drive cars.

i thought this thread was about the difference between the real C-West and the knock-off and not about how crappy C-West is.

IMO, I like the looks of C-West. I'd say if u have tons of $$$ to spare, get the real one. If not, get the knock-off. Since it's fiberglass, a lil fixing here and there wouldnt matter if it doesnt fit perfectly

Have you done any sort of research or testing on this matter before telling me to 'wake up and smell the coffee'?

Back on topic: I got the fake C west bumper, fitment is great, looks the same, acts the same and is alot cheaper to replace when it breaks. I am sure the real deal bumper is awsome too, cant go wrong either way
