Seibon Trunk not fitting???
i have spent the better part of tonite trying to install my new seibon trunk, i have pretty major gaps on both sides on the top back, also i can not get the trunk to latch down, i have tried shims, adjusting it in several different ways. i was wondering if anyone else had any issues or knows where i m coming from and can steer me in the right direction. thanks a lot
i put a bunch of spacers on the latch...not the actual latch u had to swap over but what it latches to on the body. and i also moved it as low as it could go. that cleared up most of my gaps..hope that made sense
funny yet true story, i had my cousin get in the trunk with a flashlight and he lined it up from the inside while i held it in place....we did that after an hour or so of trying other methods....it worked like a charm though
I installed mine the other day on my oz and i have the exact same problem. i also was rear ended by a truck doin like 2 mph and it bent my latch(top and bottom) and a little of the bottom of the trunk behind the bumper... ive been workin on gettin it to fit right but now luck yet... im thinkin bout takin it to a body shot to have them fit it right... shouldnt cost much?
i had pretty much the same problem with my vis trunk. i had my buddy also get in the trunk to get it to line up but after we got it to line up, we also had the major gaps. all i did was take out the torsion bars that lift and hold the trunk up and it fits beautifully now. the cf trunk is lighter and those torsion bars are meant to lift the stock trunk up so it's gonna create a gap with them in. try takin em out and see what it looks like from there, just my .02

I have the Seibon trunk, and after about 1 hour, I got it to fit nicely!
Some ideas:
--Did you flip the latch mounted to the inside of the trunk around? Flip it so that its pointing more towards the rearof the car/up direction.
--Add some washers to the latch inside the trunk...not the underside of the trunk lid.
--Get it to latch first, then worry about lining up the sides and whatnot.
If all else fails, take it to a shop. I believe its THE biggest PITA to install of all parts
**REMOVE the springs on the underside of the rear deck of the car. Otherwise, when you open your trunk, you'll launch your trunklid over your hood

put the trunk on but dont bolt it... it should fit flush... then fold down ur rear seats then bolt it from the inside of the trunk.. thats what i did and now its flush...

got the car back from te body shop yesterday and it looks 10x better, not perfect, but very good in my eyes and its hard to notice the flaws that are there. if you have one take it to the body shopfirst and save your self the headache, i wanted to bust the damn thing in half after trying to install t myself.
