Washing the Evo w/ No water spots ever!!
The water spots are caused by minerals or sediment in the water. The minerals, calcium and magnesium stay on the paint after the water has evaporated and etch the paint The best way I have found is to use a inline hose water filter, and dry immediately with a clean Microfiber towel. The Mister Clean Auto Dry system works good but the filters are expensive and are only good for a few washes. Not to mention the thing is big and bulky and will fall apart if you drop it or set it down too hard on the driveway.
I thought of buying this because we have got some seriously hard water and when it is hot it will spot very quickly. You just can't dry it quick enough even when you are hustling. It seems to be a reasonably large filter which would last a while and flow well I think. It better for the price. I've also considered going to Lowes and trying to scab together my own.

I too considered one fo those, but still read no mero than 10-15 really good uses out of it on my detailing forum. Keep rinsing the car and keeping it wet while washing are the best things to do.
im a big fan of Mr. Clean. i dont have that much time to wash my car so 30 mins with that thing maybe twice a week, it does the job just fine for me. but my evo needs to be professionally detailed badly, she needs a wax.
but yea fat and lazy people like me, Mr Clean is

I've been told by a local detailing shop that a great way to wash is with a lower powered pressure washer. This way you dont worry about swirl marks. Can anyone chime in on the use of these with their cars? Is there a specifically designed system for cars out there?
Water pressure can only go so far...some light aggitation may be needed for more stubborn dust and whatnot. But, when done in conjunction with a weak pressure washer, washing goes REALLY fast.

I used mine only a couple times. Then switched to Optimum No Rinse and haven't looked back. So much quicker and leaves a smoother surface... plus you can wash inside the garage if you can't find shade.
