question for people with aftermarket hoods

question for people with aftermarket hoods

this is for people with hood vents other then stock... does water go into the vents?

yup....but if you have rain gutters for those vents, you dont have to worry about it. i dont have gutters on mines. i have the seibon cw type hood. so yeah rain gets into mine.....because the weather here in Hawaii isnt so great right now, i put back my stock hood......ONLY until the weather clears up

Ive got the seibon type C hood and im sure water gets into the vents, but so far it hasnt affected anything.

i'm rocking the varis cf hood and yes water gets in mine too, as it does with all cf hoods........

is it bad that water gets in?.. what do you guys think?.. coz from what i know, its okay... just dont get the alternator wet and prolly the sparks..

I would be more concerned if you have an aftermarket intake.... I heard/seen this new cover that keeps water out but not to the point that air cant get in.....dont ask me how either, just what i saw/heard.

i own a vis oem stly carbon fiber hood, had it on the car for the last year and few months, even in the winter. water does get in with the vent installed, but minimal. and when the vent is off, then every lil drop gets in. i have an hks rs suction intake on also for the past year and i have had no problems at all. just got to keep wiping down the engine bay to keep it clean!
