Only way to truly judge the car is to drive a fully broken in 2007 RS4 when it gets here and then make a decision( good luck finding one). Thing is, most magazines are biased, especially C&D. That's why I cancelled my subscription, in fact cancelled most of my sub's. Audi's pride is bruised by all these lower end cars spanking them for far less money and they are putting a lot of money in this new RS4. The biggest mistake they made was putting in a V8 instead of the proven twin turbo V6 and turbo 4's.

Those who said negative things about the RS4 apparently have a taste in cars that can only be described in one word, shameful. The RS4 is without a shadow of a doubt a major icon among german sports cars, a true dream car in my book. The only people who claim that luxury, expanded features, comfort & quality are a waste of money are the people who can't afford it.

I still personally think the real RS4 is the bi turbo avant one ... those of you lucky enough to see the Gum Ball 3000 a few years ago when it was in the states got to see them first hand and all I can say is they are amazing! .... the new ones with the V8 just dont have the appeal and now that it comes in a sedan is kind of a sell out.

if i saw that sign, i would be taking pics too , left my home town 16 yrs ago...
i wonder how the food at that restaurant is. middle eastern desserts (the sweets, not the sandy dunes) are crazy delicious!

that car has such a nice interior. sometimes i get annoyed by evo's cheap plastic inserts, but then i floor it and take a corner and i'm too busy looking ahead, to worry about interior

Coming from an Audi owner switching over to the EVO.....Yea the audi's are GREEAAT cars, but once you start modding them, they are a nightmare, and a fortune to fix!!!

OT, but... the Autodrome is where they run the A1 Grand Prix... the only FIA F1 race in the Middle East happens at the Bahrain International Circuit

I would have to disagree with you here. I think the turbo 4 and turbo v6 is a good idea, however the V8 has a definite place in a AWD platform. While all the extra weight obviously sucks, the low end torque from a V8 takes FULL advantage of all the extra traction AWD provides. Think about it. A turbo 4 cylinder (even the 4g63) does n't make very much torque off the line (because of the turbo lag) and yet traction is being provided in excess with the all wheel drive drivetrain. A v8 however, makes drivetrain shattering torque right off idle. This amount of low end torque with AWD traction should make for some pretty ridiculous 60 ft times. However, the downfall of the audi is the weight. If they could figure out how to make a V8 powered all wheel drive sports car that weighed 2500lbs (with decent weight distribution) it would absolutely be the nastiest thing imaginable.

Just woke up! *when u guys are snoring asleep!!*

Seeing all the comments.. Seems the evo is not THAT of a track car.. It's just more luxury. Opinions differ, no doubt the RS4 is a true sports car, but not as 'fun factor' as an evo.. It's no more a toy the way an evo is.. So i must conclude they're both different cars as much as i can feel the owners of the two cars have different mentality: probably think different, dress different, talk and eat different! (hehe.. talk about their taste in 'hareem', which means 'chicks' here in arabic!!).. I guess it'd be hard for me to meet an RS4 guy, frequent him and have him as my buddy! He'd be too snob a guy to deal with i suppose!!

Otherwise, yeah u're right the circuit in Dubai is not for F1 yet..

Good morning everyone, am going to work!!

Wael

I'd almost kill for a car like that. Audi's RS4 is such a great car.

I almost bought an S4 when i got my Evo. But i couldn't justify spending $47k on a car.

i believed u meant to type RS4 there

so according to the EVO mag, the fq320 destroyed the rs4 on a track...

aren't the US Evo's "fq320"s? didn't all the tuners verify that the Evo 9's are underrated and are getting closer to 320 hp to the crank, same as a "fq320"? if that's the case then the US Evo 9's are the same car as the evo 9 fq320's getting tested in magazines correct?

nice pictures mate. those RS4's are damn sexy...both exterior and esp. the interior *drooling* the OP's Evo is sexy as hell too, rocking the jdm rear bumper...sigh, why can't US Evo's get those from the factory

I like the RS4, but I think what you just said is a bit of an exaggeration.

The RS4 is not an "icon german sports car."

I'd take any Porsche except a Boxster, Cayman, and Cayenne.

I'd take any AMG except the C55 & G55.

I'd take any new BMW, M-car as well.

I wouldn't buy an RS4 for $70,000+, I'd buy a Corvette Z06

Hold on.

Audi makes some beautiful cars inside and out. The cars are built like vaults.

My old S4 was impeccably put together; tight body panels, tight interior panels, high-quality plastics, an amazing trunk hinge mechanism (you have to check one out).

But Audis are not the most reliabe of cars.

The older B5 S4s had major issues with the stock plastic bypass valves getting stuck, the rubber throttle body boot tearing, and the transmission is not known to be that reliable.

The older A6s were problematic as well.
