Alexander's Perspective: Evolution X Concept @ NYIAS 2006
Thanks guys, i'm simply overwhelmed at the amount of responses - i'm flattered!
I'm going to working on some Concept X wallpapers, so if you'd like to tell me what your screen resolutions are (things get complicated when you have to deal with widescreen monitors and such), let me know so I can take that into account

I'm at 1280x1024 nativ resolution on my 19" LCD, I think that's a rather common resolution on non widescreen LCD's? I would love those pics in that size for my wallpapers.
These pictures are beautiful.
L glass in the hands of the right person are absolutely astonishing. Were you using any filters? Flash? Tripods? Or were you handheld the entire time?
I'm actually thinking about picking up the new EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 (I'm on a crop body). But jeebus even downsized and in jpg, that still looks beautiful.

The 1DS is a full frame... larger photosites, larger resolution, there's simply no comparison to a crop body. In fact in a number of lenses, the lens resolution exceeds that of the crop body resolution (in particular the XT). Short answer... no. But if you're not a professional, you should still be able to get very good shots with some L quality glass.
And if you want quality, you gotta be shooting in RAW!

This shot was taken with my 20D, which has about the same imaging chip as the Rebel XT. It's all about the lens. (Canon 35-350mm L-series in this case) Do what you can to get a good "L" lens and you can take some dramatic photos with that rig.

Check out my photography from New York International Show in 2005:

Those were all taken with a Canon Digital Rebel (300d) and either the kit lens or a 50mm f1.8.
This was on a public day as well, which required a ton of patience.

I was fortunate enough to be able to use the 1ds-MKII this year

Thanks Cajun
Anyone want to see the Concept X in a different color? I could probably get a pretty accurate color change going with the resolution I have to work with...
