Mr. Saikou's radiator mod

Sometimes I help out people I know with some fabrication. Here is something I just did.

TASK: move aluminum radiator hose tube over a little bit to reduce hose bends for an EVO.

I made a new hose connector on the lathe, and custom fit it on the radiator. The owner only wanted the original tube capped off.

Here are 2 pics, one shows the tubes side by side, and one pic is a close up of the new tube fitting.

What do you think?

It should be the same, I looked inside and it is open all the way across, so yeah. I believe it is a common mod so it should be OK.

DANG that weld is the cleanest i've ever seen O.O

just one question... what does it look like under the inlet on the new piece? is there a area where you're suppose to ram the coolant into? or is it just open from the end tank?

Before I welded the new tube on, I could see the channels of the core. Just like when you peek inside an intercooler.
