Some pictures I've taken this week.

You say they aren't print worthy and to keep trying. I'm totally cool with that, but I'd think that someone in your position and with the friends you have you could, I don't know, maybe tell me what's wrong with the pics, elaborate some?
Like #1, I know the sky is blown out, and a person of your caliber should too. Why not tell me to raise my aperature, or close down the exposure, maybe drop the ISO down another notch....
I don't really look at critiqueing as "They're alright, keep your head up, slugger..."

I do not mean to be condescending to you, I apologize if I sound like it. It seems you are serious about photography, from the camera equipment list you have. Just gotta keep at it and learn from other photographers and such.

Here are some tips from me (i'm far from professional and am a newb my self) .....what I have found in my experiance is that color full back grounds and creative angles help a TON! ... Also since cameras are digital dont be afraid to shot a lot of the same shot making small comp. adjustments. I have also foudn that willing to get dirty like laying on the ground leaning against stuff, climbing up on things can get you some real creative angles to shoot at.
Also when your shoot is done dont be afraid to touch up your best shots with photoshop. I use it for simple things like contrast / lighten & darken / ect.

Yeah, the top for pictures are my favorite out of ~40-50 taken at that spot. I was playing around with ISO and f-stop to see what I could come up with. I've been shooting for a while with many cameras, but I've only had the DSLR for a year or so, and I'm just now getting into playing with the settings and whatnot. I used to be one of the "night shots with way too much exposure and never change the white balance" guys.
I know I keep falling back to this but I shot the car pics with "posters" in mind, I didn't want to crazy of an angle or anything, I just wanted nice 3/4 views of my car when it was clean (It's never clean).
The main thing that gets me is post proccessing in PS. I usually do auto levels/contrast/colors, but that's about it. I'm still getting my feet wet with it.
Thanks again, man.
