This movie seems like its going to be boring...movie wise, but the cars seem very hot. I like the fact that they are trying something more new, drifting.

But for the EVO, why? I'm still very upset over the fact that they made it rear-wheel drive...which I know is very importnat for drifting...but still, the beauty of and EVO is having it be a AWD.

What do you guys think of making it a RWD. I my opinion, it's loosing acceleration power.

 

sucks IMO to be removing the "life" and unique-quality of AWD in the Evos but thats Hollywood for ya guys......however, i do hope to win that toyo sweeps thing where they are giving away a "lightly" used one.

Rally Red w/ APR widebody & styled after the one in the movie. definitely have some "rice" to remove from the thing before officially taking ownership of the beast...but its worth some 28K...so yeah. works for me.

ive won 2 xboxes in the past from Taco Bell when it first came to US shores so im hoping theres a bit of luck left over. hah. we'll see.

ill be there to see the movie but prolly not on opening night for fear of some "cool kid" "drifting" into my poor Civic. maaaaybe like a week after the movie comes out, the streets or at LEAST the parking lots will be safe here in Orlando, FL again.

even scarier....the Official FL Evo meet (Orlandoish mostly so far) is that same weekend. i feel overprotective of my Evo buddies here in town & hope the best for them as the teens of the city wreak havoc of the streets. lol.

why are the civc guys the one who care this much.... and why do they make a honda with RALLYE(sp?) red color?? it would be funny as hell to see a honda rally.....and i belive its RALLY or RALLI as in RALLI ART....u cant add the E to the end of of a word to make it sound Euro....its not like spelling TYRES....

for the record... Honda = Rallye Red & Mitsu = Rally Red. its just a name...2 words in fact. no need to get all fussy about it really. if you want the real answer you're gonna have to ask Honda or Mitsu about it. cuz BOTH of those names have been in use for years & even in 2006 the Civic (incl. the Si) has a Rallye Red option for color. beats me why its Rallye, not Rally, or Ralli, or Slow Non-Race Inspired Red or whatever else you can think of.

the kit they used to convert it to rwd was provided by RMR, which also allows the user to switch back and forth (not on the fly though), it has the hardware and components that allow you to convert to rwd or put it back to awd, which i think is pretty cool. its not on the market yet because of steering angle issues when converting to rwd, but thats what i heard (could be wrong), everything else i read from this months issue of sport compact car.

i do agree though, i feel this movie will make a lot of insurance premiums go up when they bash up their car trying to be fast and furious.

as for all the hoopla about it's unrealistic! of course it's unrealistic you tool's... it's not a documentary! when was the last time you saw a movie that was realistic...

 

If anything, making it RWD the car would MAKE more power(less drivetrain loss)

 

the z is the only new car that is even driftable...

 

nissan was the main sponser of the film, and donated dozen's of z's and silvia's, the next biggest sponser of the film was mitsubishi, donating a dozen jdm evo 9's
