Arrow What do you guys think about these rims,,

These came off my 88MX6T They are SSR Competitions 17 x 8.5 and they weigh 15pounds.. The only thing that I need to do for the front are wheel spacers and longer studs...THE WHEEL HITS THE BRAKE...

I always found that wheel ugly...sorry striaght opinion here. If they are for strictly track use, then that's another story.

The wheels themselves are quality pieces but on your car they look a little small and dealing with spacers is never a good time. You can get a healthy chunk of change for those wheels too.

Like someone stated earlier. The rims are very good rims. I seen someone have a set of 18"s before and lowered and it looked good. But on stock suspension, the stockers look the best IMO

they are my fav rims. i have them on my s13. i dont think they go too good with the car though, cause of the color. maybe if they were the black ones, u can order them through gruppe-s. those ssr wheels are owned by tanabe now.

i love the gold Type-C's (competitions). however, i've seen quite a few threads in different forums with failing SSR Competitions (rims bending).

i hope you just put them on to take a pic.......running tires that dont match in diameter in a awd car will mess things up (drivetrain wise)

whats the offset on those wheels? start there....don't rule them out if you want a simple (hopefully very cheap upgrade) start by finding out the offset then figuring out what size spacers you need to run and swap your wheel studs for some longer units (very easy) especially now that ARP finally has the kit out for our cars. When i did mine forever ago i had to use mustang ones and bore everything out to make them fit. Then get some larger tires ..... i would say a 245 40 17 or 255 40 17. It is a lot of work but IF you are getting the wheels for a stupid good price then its worth it.
