Just curious for the guys with the Yakima racks, did you buy through Yakima? It's coming out to $657 for the base tower and two Highroller bike racks. That sound about right? Anywhere better to shop?

I'd buy used. Yakima is such a rape job when you buy a whole set brand new.

I got my whole setup (bars, towers, clips, snowboard racks) barely used for like $150.

^ +1. Check Craigslist in your area. You'll probably find a good deal on a used one. You might just have to buy the right clips for the Evo. I bought mine on line from another member and paid less than a couple of hundred $'s.

What size fairing are you guys running?

Yakima recommends the 38" model for the Evo but I'm wondering if other sizes function or look better since they are all the same price?

Same components as everyone has mentioned so far (Q Towers, 48" bars, Q102, and Q83 clips). I held off on the fairing for now. I may pick one up later, we'll see how it works without one (it seems more form than function). If any of you guys with the fairing have run with and without it I'd be curious to know if you think it's a necessary purchase.

I have a Yakima rack on my X but am looking forward to the arrival of the whispbar in the US. The Yakima rubbed the paint off the contact points but did a great job hauling gear to the mountain all winter.
