My yakima rack got pulled off twice on the freeway today against strong headwinds with 2 bikes on top. I didn't have my key on me for the lock cores, and I don't know if it would have made any difference to have had the Q towers locked, but it could have been disastrous. Fortunately, only the front two towers got pulled off, and I was able to limp home after reattaching them. I am now squarely on the side of getting a custom hitch fabricated and using it for bike/snowboard rack attachment. I don't think I can bear any more dents/scratches/rubs. It did look pretty good, though, like the car was actually capable of doing some chores when needed.

 

I know this sounds stupid but I really like the yakima wind fairing better than the thule one. Is it possible to put the yakima wind fairing on a thule cross bar?

Had a rack on my Subie so I figured I would finally get some new Q clips and throw it on my Evo for shizzles and giggles.


Probably only gonna be on the car in the winter. Snowboard racks were starting to look a little worn so they're getting touched up
