Water Spots under finish

Anyone know of a way of getting rid of water spots that can only be seen from certain angles and in certain light conditions that appear to be under teh paolich and was layers.

I have tried washing diligently, clay bars with detailing mist (which highlights them more while there wet,) Cleaner wax. I cannot get them off. its pissing me off. they almost seem to have an edge to them, but are encased in finish?

any suggestions?

I think those are just water spots on top of the clear. Do you wash your car in the sun?

I believe them to be on top of the clear coat but under the wax, and i cannot remove them.

I would try a pre wax cleaner such as P21s Paintwork cleanser or Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion.

You will probably need to use some lightly abrasive rubbing compound. Although I doubt what you are talking about are water spots because they should come out with clay. I am guesssing that you have some bird crap spots which are very hard to get out. Make sure to polish out the rubbing compound marks/swirls with a swirl remover or polish. Let me know how its going.

You will need a buffer to completely remove them. They are stains in the clearcoat.

You might be able to get them out by hand, but it's going to be aggravating.

Definitly not Bird droppings just because of teh quantity of it. I dont know when I got them though. it is only in certain light i see them, so i guess i waxed right over the top of them. I now also use the ICE product which is a liquid polish, and i have a feeling I am building on them as i apply more wax or polish.

can you sugest some products by name to help me out. I have a Black car too which is a real B*tch.

You may consider a professional detailing just to start with a clean car, then take over from there.

you should check out autopia.org

Before you try using a polisher... try washing the car w/ some dawn dishwashing soap (note: this will remove any previous wax and leave your car vulnerable)

If the stains are still there, then try a mixture of vinegar and water. I believe the water spots are lime deposits and the vinegar breaks it down.

Obviously finish up with a few coats of wax...

What year is your EVO? If it is a 03-05 then most likely you have a single stage paint job. That means you have no top-coat clear, the paint is mixed with the clear, so getiing certain spots out like water spots shouldn't be that hard. Just like when you polish metal, you must start with something slightly abrasive then move down the line to less abrasive products.

Also, where do you live?

Whew...I thought I was the only one. I have THE same problem, but only on my roof.

Its like water spots UNDER the clear...I'd washed with dawn, claybar'd, polished, waxed...still there.

Guess I'll try the same with a buffer, and possible take it to the pro's if that doesn't work.
