opinion on color scheme...

Hey all, I am going to be recieving volk le28n 18x9 gloss black with polished lip wheels soon. And I am trying to go with the blue and black theme. I need to take my car to a bodyshop in the near future to re-clear my carbon fiber hood, etc. so I was wondering if it would look good to paint my mirrors and my door handles black? I am contemplating on wether or not I should do this, what do you think?

You want to make the car look like an RS? Why would you paint that stuff black. Everything on the car looks fine except the Veilside kit IMO. Get the wheels, take of the body stuff and put the spoiler back on.

You mentioned having your cf hood clear coated...I am thinking about doing the same and wanted to know if you have any idea how much that might cost?

If anyone else knows....please chime in.

that would be a lot nicer in my opinion with the the wing back on. And i think it would look cheesy painting the door handles and mirrors.

+1 I'm going to be taking my wing in to a local body shop to be reclear coated and had thought about having them reclearcoat my carbon fiber hood and trunk while they were at it. btw, you should put your wing back on. It looks so much cleaner imo with the wing. oh yeah, and I'm trying to do the same black/blue theme too! good choice. lol. If I were you, I'd leave the mirrors, and handles blue. It flows better.
here's my car with the cf trunk and wing mounted.
good luck to ya!

Wow, I'm lovin that bumper on a bby...if you are going with the whole blue and black thing you need some new head and tail lights.

Please do! I'll visit a couple of body shops in my area and see what they quote me. I'll let you know what they tell me.

Thanks!

I think the only black pieces on your car should be carbon fiber. Painting them would look tacky. Get carbon fiber handles and mirriors, if anything, otherwise, leave them be.

I am a painter and I am not sure what the labor rates are in the cali area, but to just have a hood recleared, I can not see it being more then a couple of hundred. Paint time is just like mechanical time in hours, so usually a hood is only a 2 hr job. Most likely just a couple of hundred. If I was doing that job on the side I would only charge 150 to sand down a hood and re clear it. As for the door handles and mirrors?? I would leave them blue, there just arent any lines other then the door handles themselves to really make them POP out at you.

I won't not change the colors on the handles/mirrors. I would however, through your wing back on to add some more cf. Also, Im sure you played good money for those VII tails (unless its a vinyl overlay) but you could get the evo IX head/tail lights for the blacked out look. Or even black out the ones you have. I cant tell what color your voltex gen. is but, if its blue, you could go black also.
