JDM/Euro Bumper Woes...
JDM crash beams do not exist!!!!!! it's an internet rumor that is 100% absolutely not true. everyone tries to pawn off the the jdm bumper reinforcement as the jdm rear crash beam, which it isn't. they are 2 completely different things.
here's a pic of the usdm crash beam.

here's a pic of what people mistake as the jdm crash beam, but it's really the same thing as the usdm reinforcement beam (which comes stock!!).

More Inspiration!

I have the JDM crash beam. As far as that beam actually helping you in a rear end colission, I really don't see a huge difference I think that not having the spare tire in the well would allow the rear end to crumble more. Personally I am more worried about the Nitrous bottle in the trunk.
Second of all if you get rear ended it is the other drivers fauld 99.99% of the time. Which means legaly you could go after them.
All in all this is one of those debates that could go on forever with tons of speculation and oppinions. Do what you want to do and what you like. That's what I did and the bumper looks killer.
By the way if anyone does this I have just replaced my WORKS Axel Back Muffler Delete pipe with a muffler. This unit has been shortened and modified to fit the JDM Rear Bumper. If you are interested PM me and I can get you some pictures.

Well you are more than welcome to call Z1. I just removed mine. It saves me money and the hassle. If i get in a wreck I'll take it to my buddies body shop where he is an approved adjuster.
You have verified this with the vendor? I understand fully the difference between the retaining beam, and the crash beam. Listed on Z1's site however it clearly states that the INGS +1 hybrid kit will come with the JDM CRASH beams. I would assume that since they can source them for said kit; they could source them for others as well. I would provide the link however their site appears to be down. My apologies. I am now leaving this thread as I could care less if you keep the beam, shave it, or just stick with the USDM bumper....
Even though you put a "JDM crash beam", the insurance company will still deny your claim if you ever get into an accident. Why you may ask? Because those so called crash beams may not be up to US standards. Remember you still removed the stock crash beam and put a possible sub-standard replacement.

you guys are lucky that you can mount if off the box. I had to pay 400 to get mine painted GG coz the JDM evos didnt come in GG. I had the bottom part painted black coz it looked too much like the color of the car if i left it. Now theres a bit more contrast. Besides i believe the crash beams are just for low speed impacts. It wasnt designed to save lives but rather prevent major damage from occuring at below 10mph or so rear hits.
