hey guys just wondering how many of you street drive with your roll cages? and how many who do run the RC padding?

Just wondering if this is needed or what?.. I dont want to crack my head open like a melon in a accident.

i drive mine on the street but only about 50 miles a month, no padding. there's no bar by my head, i have an 8 pt. but in an event of an accident, there's not enough padding in the world to save your head. Just take the risk, or not.

You should NOT drive with a cage on the street (or track) without a helmet.

so if I take her out to get groceries I have to hard core it and wear a helmet?
should I also bring the hans brace as well?

i personally think this sounds kind of silly but if you think about it, when you remove your factory air bag for a aftermarket wheel and add all this super think steel tube around your head... regardless if you get hit from the front back or side, your going to eat it hard!.. that is if your not at least wearing a helmet..

I hope this generates some talk as I'd love to hear how many actually take the risk and those who do not..

Depends on the weight of the car. If it's full weight, probably 1.75 x 1.20 DOM if I remember correctly. Been a bit since I last looked.

[quote=edzilla;4546736]You would need to have something fab'd up to have a harness bar for the Cusco Roll Cage.

Yes. At least at my track it will. I have the autpower 4pt, and foam padding where the bolts are shown and have no problem passing inspection at the track. My cage is technically a 5pt now due to adding a bar on the drivers side.
