Well some silly people actually mistake my car for an Evo IX. Luckily with the RRM turbo on it is faster than our most common "Evo" the 260, so its not as if its all show no go.

Reason I didnt buy an Evo?

Evo insurance for me: £4000 a year ($8000)
Lancer Insurance for me £600 a year ($1200)

Lancer is cheap (£7000) and the Evo is so expensive (£35,000) to buy.

I can get similar or better acceleration out of the 2.4 Turbo Lancer to the Evo-VIII-260 (5.1s to 60) which would cost three times as much to buy, ten times as much to insure and will only return 18mpg compared to 28mpg that I have!

If anyone actually likes it then respect to you for noticing my hard work. It's no where near what an Evo IX feels like, but as far as lancers and sports compacts go, its the best I've driven.

Hey man, I'm not hating on your car. I actually think it looks good and tastefully modded. At least it's not all riced out with stickers and neon lights. You should thank me for giving you all this exposure.

Thanks, although I felt my heart sink when I saw those pics here! I thought, here we go... time to try and dig up reasons why people shouldnt hate it!

For me, stock lancer bumpers look ugly, and Evo bumpers fit well and look clean. So thats that!

your not that accurate in your statements:
one being, i doubt your car is going to get to 60 that fast even when completed<<that is opinion
two being, i get 26-27MPG on the interstate under "normal" driving conditions

i think what you have tried to do is cool, but don't jump in shoes that don't fit. I have been on here longer than most and remember when the majority of people on here were lancer owners and did all they could to make the car fast. one year later it all changed because the Evo finally dropped. i completely understand about the insurance, that is the only costly thing about the car, other than the irresistability to stop buying parts

I can not understand why so many people are ******* on this guy. The car looks sick. It's not an Evo, but that should be obvious to anyone who knows the Lancer lines. This guy put some hard work into his ride and it looks awesome. It's obvious that he's proud of his work and everyone is tearing him a new one.

To quell those who may knock him for dumping all that money into his car for show, he even turbo'd it. This isn't just another Civic with a body kit, if you will. I think he's even taking the criticism very well, considering the pride he has for his ride is outwardly visible. Cut the guy some slack.

The car looks tight, bro. Good job with it and ignore the haters.

I am truly embarrassed at how much negativity this guy received for trying to stand out. I'm going to go get some Midol, now. I'm done b'tching.
