I've had these identical yellow Nokya bulbs in my car for over 20,000 miles. No excessive heat and the bulbs are in perfect condition. I never touched the bulb putting them in, which is what I think the problem is with the original poster.

Also, mine are 55w.

I hate posts like this that have such false information. This accusation is based on one user and is not even subdtantiated by any hard evidence.

just make sure whatever bulbs u put in dont exceed the factory watts, running higher watts will result in burn connectors.

I got my piaas for $65.

Guys I have changed many bulbs and have seen many like these come through the dealership I worked for.
DONT TOUCH THE GLASS.
Also just for reasurance, cleans them off with an alcohol swab, especially if the box was opened before you got the bulbs.

OK guys, well I have made an *** of myself.

I just bought another set of bulbs and it turns out the Nokyas were 55w all along!!

The box may say 80watt but if you look under the plastic part of each bulb itself you will see it says 12V55W.

I guess the thread starter really did touch the bulbs.

Pardon my absence in this thread I was in Vegas. Please show me in the two posts I made in this thread where I am "passing false information"? I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem, hence only making it a question. Reading is great.

I thought I covered that in the one of the two posts I made. I NEVER touched these bulbs in any manner. No biggie, it was a simple question that only required a yes or no. Guess I got a bad set.

maybe you didnt but they have been touched maybe by someone at the store you bought them from ect, the bulbs work fine, i have had them in several cars, and know many others that have as well. the only reason they will do that is because of an oily substance touching them, go buy a cheap *** oem bulb touch it with you fingers and install it, i gaurantee the same thing will happen.............
