cleaning headlights/taillights??

my heads and tails are really blurry looking..i clean them really good then they fog up again like when you take a hot shower and the mirrors all foggy..i tried windex, island shine(which works wonders on windows, but obviously not lights) anyone know of anything i can use?

i used a razor on them thinking it was road grim etc(didnt mess up light) and then i wiped it and it came crystal clear, but then fogged up again..anyone know anything..thanks

Mothers Plastic Polish - its a red bottle about the size of your hand.
I used this on my gf's old car that had foggy plastic - looked much better when I was done.

PS - Windex isnt great for plastic (or paint).

it might be the silicone sealant around the headlights and tail lights you have to check for...coz no matter how much you clean it, if it's not sealed right it'll keep fogging up.

3M makes a great plastic polish. A rag, and a little elbow grease can go a long way. I use it all the time on my headlamps and taillamps. They still look relatively new for my car being a 2003 w/ 35K

I'd use that mothers as mentioned above, and also rain-x. Just make sure you whip it off with some water after, as it will leave some light gray on the area. That's what I use on my cars and it seems to work.

my headlights have a little of the same thing, when theyre wet they look clear as hell but when you dry them off the "fog" which isnt really fog, shows up again, ill try the plastic polish as well.

go to NAPA and get their buffing pads for headlights. Pre soaked in compund and they make the lights look great. All you need is a drill.

buffing them w/ a plastic polish will get rid of the "fogginess"

you can do it by hand or w/ a buffer/polisher

It's probably the silicone not sealed right.
