Here you go mate...

OFFSET

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/...jsp?techid=101

Spacers do as the name suggests they move the wheel out from the hub, effectively widening the stance of the vehicle and lowering its roll centre. People do this for a number of reasons, to clear bigger brakes, fill the arcehes out more and to give the car a wider track.

This is the easist way to explain offset

the stock evo wheels are 17 inches in diameter, 8 inches wide with a 38mm offset

if you put 17x8 with a +30 offset the rim will be sticking 8mm further out. the rim will be 8mm farther from center of the car.

to be honest i didnt know this either so dont feel like a newbie

but spacers are needed when your wheels are wider.. if your wheels are 8inches wider, then u need an 8 inch spacer, correct?

btw jie-evo where are u located in florida?
