Headlight and tail light tints?

I was driving up to Pa this weekend on 83N and stopped at a gas station and ran into another evo driver with a sweet looking clean WW SSL IX. It's was lowered, nice Rays rims, with dark tints. Long story short he had tinted headlight and tail light. It looked desent, but I was wondering if that's a big no-no. ie.....ricey?

Its your car isn't it? So you should do what you want. Giving this decision to the this forum is asking for it

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what? If you don't have anything of value to input on this topic then it's better to just read, keep quite and move on. Silence is bliss!

it's your car like the others said

I'd be hesitant to put a smoked/gray film over headlights just because it decreases overall light output but rockblocker makes headlight film/protectant

You should also be concerned about local laws on that. Too dark is probably illegal in most states

Anyone have a good method of doing this? I tried to do my taillights with walmart tint and that stuff just did not work. It couldnt conform to the shape of the light.

I'm thinking about having EvoDave (I think that's his name) to smoke my stock tails on my IX I specified in my PM to him that I just wanted a little tint....not blacked out.

I've always wanted to do my headlights and taillights, but I really was concerned about the legality of it.

You might be better off getting blacked out headlight and tailight housings (JDM Evo MR ones, or having someone do it)

How much light do the overlays cut out? when their not on, does it cover up the silver effectively? Thhe bluebatmobile pictures look good, but its really hard to tell in photos.

What I said was valuable. Why would you base your decision for a non performance mod on what others on this forum think? . Shouldn't you do it based on what you want to do? Or what is street legal? To stretch it if everyone on here said you should sell them your car for $20 would you do it? Probably not...so why should this be different?

You've already said above you think it looks decent so your only motivation for coming here and asking this question is to test the waters to see if you do it and then post pics whether or not you will get flamed. Which is stupid cause no matter what you do on this forum someone is going to flame you about it....

Anyway I will leave this thread...your right I'll keep quiet and move on.

I suggest not using window tint, it does not conform to the curves at all.

The vinyl does work well if you're looking for that completely blacked-out look. I like the JDM MR's myself but they are a bit pricey. To each his own as they say.
