Yay new mods

I finally got around to ordering software and decided to switch catbacks as well. I went with the Works P2R because I have been very happy with Works and I really appreciated what I have read about their software. I purchased their 70mm downpipe and HFC to complete the exhaust and could not have been more pleased with their products and service.

I also switched from the HKS HiPower that I originally bought for the car to the Greddy Titanium. I love the Greddy! With the HKS system that I had to modify to keep from rubbing on the driveshaft, hanging low and being extremely angled, I was pleased that the Greddy Ti had no such headache. I would have ordered this exhaust first and I am sorry that I did not do so, but since I am running a cat, it really is not as loud as everyone makes it out to be. It is louder than the HKS while cruising at 80+ but other than that, they are pretty close in sound levels. I was going to run a silencer on the HKS for long highway trips anyway, so with it installed allows for headache free cruising. The tone has a nice aggressive growl with a head turning violent air rushing noise while in the upper rpms. Insane!

I am really happy with the results. The installation of the new vacuum line that comes with the Works software was not too bad and I had the exhausts switched in under an hour with a snack/beer break. What I really appreciate about the software is that it returned the quick spooling spunk the MR had stock. With the TBE it lost that to a degree but obviously made up for it in the higher RPM's. Now the car has a stronger spunk than stock but is a whole new beast ripping up through the gears. Boost spikes ~1.5bar and holds strong at the heavier side of ~1.4bar according to the factory boost gauge. It is addictive acceleration with stock feeling smoothness. I'll report back about the increased MPG, I have not been able to keep my foot out of it...lol. Bravo Works

Definately one of the best looking exhausts out there. If I may impart my .02, get a JDM rear bumper, the exhaust will line up with it perfect.

Although I greatly appreciate how sick the bumper looks, I have had too much headache dealing with different bumpers and lip kits to get involved with that mess again.

Good choice on the cat-back. It's one of the highest flowing out there. Which high-flow-cat did you choose? Is it the stock cat that has been modified to three inches, or the off-road-cat? Just for your information, when you increase the diameter of the piping, spool-up time will be faster not slower.

since you got the high flow car from works...did you weld a bung for the o2 sensor? or did you mount the sensor in the midpipe.

i have the garage hrs exhaust and planning to get the works hFC...but it doesn't have the o2 bung on it. i guess i can always have one welded on.

The Greddy had a bung in its first section of piping. So I just unplugged the O2 sensor from the stock cat and plugged it into the bung the Greddy already had on it.

Initially when I had just the catback with the stock DP and cat, I bought a plug that is actually meant for an oil pan. I found one the same size/thread pitch to plug up the bung on the catback while using the stock cat.

It is the offroad one. The Evo is my only means of transportation and to have the car laid up while I send the cat away is impossible for me.
