If I needed to repaint the car one day...

I have a Labrador Black IX MR, practically brand new with less than 1600 miles. Already, the paint is showing a huge amount of swirls and more than a few large scratches. If I ever wanted to have the car resprayed one day, would it be possible to get Labrador Black in large quantities directly from Mitsubishi?

I dont think you would need to. thats what the paint code is for. a shop just uses the code to mix the exact color to the quantity that is needed.

I see. Thanks, that's reassuring if what you're saying is accurate. I didn't know whether or not Mitsubishi did something funky with the labrador black.

They change the color to labrador black? Does it still have a blue metal flake in it? Maybe they just changed the name. Tarmac black's paint code is X42

Yes, it still has the bluish/purplish specs in the paint. However, the dealer refers to it as Labrador Black while my window sticker states Tarmac Black. A bit confusing...

theyre the same colors...just like wicked white and weightless white. About the swirls...impossible to avoid. To remedy that you have to buff, polish, and wax and it'll look like new.
