Tryin to get that smooth paint feel back

Hey guys lookin for some help/advice here. I'm a dilligent cleaner/detailer/waxer when it come to my evo but I have somehow developed a nasty feel to my paint. Car looks great shines awesome but the paint doesnt feel glossy smooth like glass like it did last summer, I dont know if its overspray (I did get my grill re-painted and cleared recently) or just deep down embedded dirt and crap but I need to do something about it. Was thinking about taking a clay bar to it, but there are a lot of different clay bars now, even the liquid clay bar made by turtle wax as part of there ice line... What do you guys recommend? Your input is appreciated, thank in advance.

Just got done yesterday with the Meguires clay bar kit...
It seemed a lot easier than the Mothers kit I tried before, also comes with their nice microfiber towel...

How easy was it to use, did you do the entire car, and how long did it take you approx?

Get a clay bar and dunk it in car wash soap and water. Go through the whole car. Once done, give it a nice coat of wax to protect the paint. Hope this helps.

My plan was to use the clay bar with its lubricant and then putting either a carnuba wax or zaino on it, but your suggestion is a good idea as well dunking it car wash soap/water mixture, then of course the wax after Might have to try that out. thanks

Anyone know much about the Turtle wax Liquid clay bar as part of there Ice line? Anyone use it? impressions? Might it be worth a shot instead of using the actual clay bar?

Try claying it, and then a paint polish, and then finish it up with the wax of your choice and id imagine it should be fine. However you have said that you have tried multiple clay compounds and they haven't worked for you. How extensively bad is the feel of the paint?

I've heard many things about the liquid clay products out there and they simply don't do the job as well as the regular clay bars.

My GG IX MR always looked great when it was clean, but it bothered me that when I ran my fingers accross the paint it wasn't smooth.

I bought the Meguiars clay bar kit and went to work. I'm very meticulous when it comes to this sort of stuff so it took me from about 5 hours Wash, Clay and Wax. I did not wash it after because I actually used soap and water with the clay bar (not the stuff that comes with the kit) simply because I preferred the soap/water mix over using a spray bottle.

Needless to say the car is perfect. The paint is smooth and I love the way it looks in the sun. I picked up my kit from Meguiars directly and saved a bit from using my local auto parts store.
