For those of you with JDM Headlights...

I have had my JDM Evolution VIII MR Headlights for some time now, and I seem to have this one, seemly unfixable problem where I cannot get the HIDs to line-up correctly. I am also having the same problem with the high beams as well...

I have tried adjusting the headlights on the back where the bulbs plug in, but they never sem to line up. The headlights were also installed perfectly, so thats not the problem...

Anyone who has experienced the same thing, chime in! Thanks

** I will also post pics shortly to show how the HIDs are lining up.

I've heard they were skewed to the right to better illuminate the drivers side on the RHD Evo's. Could be mistaken though?

When I had EvoDave black out my headlights, I needed to have them realigned....so I took it to the dealer and they did it for me....$45 bucks I think is what it cost me. NO issues since!

Yes, the USDM headlights use H11 and the JDM MRs use 9006.

They will need to cut and attach a 9006 harness

I have this same issue - the one about headlamp alignments - Just had the Body Shop put in JDM MR Headlamps... A box on the freeway took out the passenger side stock lamps so an upgrade was in order...

Keep in mind the JDM MRs are for a RHD market...and I knew this going in, but was hoping for some type of miracle...Right.....

Anyway... I got it back the first time... I have the perfect alignment BUT backwards! The horizontal "S" curve (that very nice clean delinated line you see when the lights shine on a wall) that the lights make was backwards (High on the driver's side, low on the passenger's side) than what it was supposed to be (Low on the driver's side, high on the passenger's side).

I took it back and the body shop realigned them... they were all FUBAR'd, way too high all the way around, and the levelers wouldn't work. Back again... They got the lights "ALMOST" acceptable, but there is no clean horizontal 'S' curve - very fuzzy! And the levelers still don't work. Back again.... now the lights are sort of OK, still a fuzzy 'S' curve that is not really an S any more, and the levelers work mostly....

Here is what I have learned so far... The JDM MRs are built for a RHD market... as such when they are put into a LHD car the aiming is screwed up (see above).... I FIGURED that a simple 're-alignment' would fix everything as the bulbs are all separate.... not so.... with that in mind, either you have to live with some major compromises OR perhaps there is a way to swap internal parts of the housings???

Closer exam shows the projector housings are bolted into the housings and the up down adjustment screw is part of this mounting setup. My thought is -could you pull the projector housings from the JDM housings and 1.) swap them from one side to the other (Left housing to R housing) or 2.0 use the projectors and all the hardware from a set of USDM housings and put them into the JDM housings?

I've looked inside my old USDM housings and can see where the projector housings are attached, but it looks like it will be a PITA to try and remove them.... Thoughts anyone?

As for this, the fog light connector needs modded as noted above... clip the foglamp connector off and splice in a 9006 connector and bulbs... there should be NO issue with the high beams...

I just did something as well to add and bring this back..

On the running lights you will need to swap 2 signal wires to make the amber pn the JDM ones be your running lights... there are 2 wires for the turning and running... they share the same volt wire they just need to cut and swap the signal.

Also need to swap your turn signal (w5w?) bulb with an orange one. They have a stealth bulb wich looks clear yet shines Orange so you do see orange in the light during the day.
