Blue Headlights Without HIDs / ddmtuning HID Kit Help..

I know absolutely nothing when it comes to these blue headlight bulbs because their are tons of different bulbs.

I have the GSR without the HIDs and i came from a Evo 8 with HIDs that had some very beautiful headlights. I was told to go to ddmtuning.com to purchase a HID kit but i do not have any idea what i'm supposed to get there. I love HID lights but i very much lack the skill to install a kit like that. Also considering i don't even know where to get a nice kit does not help.

Anyway, I was looking at some regular bulbs online even at napa and i ran across some blue bulbs.. but then i used ebay then i search for some and i run into these "2x 8000K Blue D2S D2R D2C Xenon Bulb For Low Beam Headlights Replacement Lamps".

Well, idk what the heck D2S or D2R is.. So can someone help me out here real quick? I am trying to get some blue bulbs that would be similar to the HID's in the evo 8. I am sure they were 8000k. But i don't want a bulb to burn my headlight lamps where i have to do restoration later down the road.

If you can post a link to some nice blue halogens then i would purchase them and just replace these stock ones.

If you could tell me what kit to order from ddmtuning.com that would be awesome because i run into some option problems they are asking me to choose from.. i know for..

Wattage: 55w
Bulbe Type: 9006
Bulb Color: 8000k
Mounting Bracket: 55W Ballasts
HID Harness: Duel in, Duel out ???
Error Eliminator: I have no idea what this means and if i should get it
Adapter Cables: ????

Is ddmtuning even good kits?

See, it seems easier to just buy blue halogens....

Thanks guys!

You need to do a retrofit. Hang on a second and I'll get you a link. Warning: it's a long read!

just get the kit that is for the bulbs you need, dont need anything else. the 55W will not burn anything. they make it very simple it is all plug and play, fyi you will have to plug them together backwards... reversing polarity.. youll see what im talking about later...

by going with the 55W they will be bright, but the brightness washes out some of the color. my best advice is to get another set of bulbs at the same time so you dont have regret your choice.

ddmtuning works pretty good, if you search on here many people have had them for years.

I have a set of DDM HID fogs (55w 3000k) that look great. I recently installed them and it was painless (except for my bumper clips lol). The parts from DDM actually looked really nice, I'd recommend them for the price (though I have little experience in this market).

I know several people running DDM kits on their cars. I myself... on my cycles. Never had a problem. No complaints from the people I know either. BUT. Lately people have been complaining about their service. Might want to look into that. If you do decide to go with them, You wont need...

Just go ahead and order the 9006 kit. My suggestion would be 6k. It's a nice ice/frost (light) blue. The 8k is going to be medium (stronger) blue. But if that's what you're looking for, go for it.

Also. You should read this... To avoid the flickering issue

Go check out: www.diodedynamics.com
You can search by vehicle. Also you use 9006 bulbs since you're none SSS. D2R/D2S is the bulb size for the factory HID system that comes in the SSS package. Installing HIDs is really simple. The wiring is made to be fool proof. Don't worry too much.

If you do decide to go with halogens (for now), try to get Blue Zone by Seltek. Great quality/look bulb.

Just out of curiosity, would I be able to swap my stock SSS HID bulbs / ballasts for a 55w set from DDM? I'd like to get a bit more light output, and I was thinking that this might be an easy way to do it. Could I just buy a 55w D2R / D2S kit and swap it for the stock setup (never looked at the stock wiring when I was under the hood). Stock color is 4300k correct?

Just buy a set of osram cbi d2s bulbs. I have done this and the output is great, they also have the svs version which is even brighter but not as blue
