I used these to replace my good ones on the race car. They are lighter, much and seem to work just fine. Route 53 AutoBody (who helped me after I touched the wall at Lightning) said they see them all the time and seem great. The OEM xenon lights with ballast and all are much cooler looking inside but goodness, on mine no one seems to notice and now I don't freak out when I get a piece of track shrapnel on hitting the cover. I notice the ebay ones are even nicer (and more expensive) than the ones I got but they look much closer to OEM, so that's nice.

Importantly, the tabs on the housing fit perfectly

Here's a pic.

Depo is actually a fairly reputable. They make thousands of headlights and taillights for all kind of cars. I've heard after a couple years they might get some condensation inside them. As long as you put a little bit of extra silicone around the edge they will prolly be fine for a while.

These are an awesome replacement for the non-SSS Evos. I wouldn't ever run aftermarket HIDs with a projector housing.

+1. These seem like the most affordable option for those who want to run projectors on the non-SSS models but don't want the flicker issue. I think these with JRox's harness would be all you need.

nvm not supposed to put HIDs into "halogen projector" either.

The OEM SSS lens is 3"

The FX-R is a 2.5" lens

Judging by the "OEM" design it is probably a better idea to put in the Hella Evo-R projectors which are 3" and also amazing...

Thinking about doing this...

Sum1 buy these. throw HIDs in and lets see the light scatter!

I am going to pull the trigger on this...
My custom retrofit job got completely destroyed by USPS

I just really wanna see the light scatter through these lights before the retrofit.
Maybe it really isn't that bad...

I am a little confused now...
it says

Fitment:
Mitsubishi Lancer 2008-2011 halogen (including Sport Back, Evo X halogen)
Low Beam: 9006 (not included)
High Beam: 9005 (not included)

Yet these are "halogen only lights" thus shouldn't they say the halogen light part # instead?

9006 and 5 are HIDs...

No, 9005 and 9006 are halogen numbers. Numbers like D2S are HIDs. The stock SSS HIDs will not fit in these headlights. You need to basically have a non-SSS and then hook up aftermarket HIDs in place of your 9006 bulbs, that your car has stock, and then use those.

you can use hid's in any headlights, you just need the right bulb type and connectors. The jrox cable (which can be found on ebay, evoxforums and maybe this forum) is a relay harness that plugs into the car and hid ballasts to disable the daytime running lights. If you arent familiar with the DRL, they cause HID's to flicker or have issues turning on. By disabling the DRL, it makes the HID's to work properly.
