no clear on my rr. im no detail guru but for my rr i claybared, scratchx, polish, then wax. not only did it bring my paint back to life, it brought my pink sideskirts and doorhandles back to rr. i applied all the products using a orbital buffer. as i gain more confidence and skill it will be time for me to step up to a pc

I have only seen ****ty red on the VIIIs. Although I have also seen a lot of red VIIIs that were taken care of and they look great. Even in perfect condition I think the red on the IX and VIII are different because the IX red is slightly different in color and looks even better.

Have the evo repainted pink, that way you don't have to wait for it to turn that color

I promise you my 03 has no clear. Rub with compound and you get red on the rag.

just bring it to a good body shop, tell them you want the car to shine again, they have the correct commercial products that you can't find at regular auto supply stores, usually they charge around 100-150 dollars to make it shine again.

DON'T CLEAR IT BIG MISTAKE

trust me

how long did it take for the clay bar?

it took me once 2 hours, after i finished the paint felt like silk.
use a good one, I recommend 3M clay blue bar, don't buy that Mother's clay bar it sucks the big one.

You are correct, I verified this at a paint shop some time ago.
Thanks

well the mitsu paint sucks anyways...maybe it being a 03 and it being 4 years later.maybe the area you live it helped with that..

BUT i guarantee you from the factory it had clear.if you ever see a car with clear compared to a car in the booth ready for clear its night and day difference

I have a question (2003 Red Evo)... I'm buying a quart of paint to respray my hood which has chips, I called the dealer they say the code is P85 OR Phoenix Red. Is Rally Red and Phoenix Red the same?

my RR front end is full of missing chips... I am just going to save up after my GT35R and re-paint the whole car the right way.
