Carbon Fiber parts

There have been a lot of inquiries into carbon fiber hoods, trunk lids, etc. and I know a few people that have gone so far as to have hoods fabricated. Personally, I really only trust the JDM manufacturers like C-West and Bozz Speed. If anyone has a source for real C-West kits and the like, please let me know. I don't want fiberglass, I don't want "well it fits the Evo VII so it must work", etc.

The types of parts I am interested in are a new hood, trunk lid, splitter (supported type - like a touring car), interior parts... (I already know about the Ralliart consoles - those are a possibility).

Thanks for your help in advance.

hey i remember reading a thread on here a while back talking about the poor heat dissapation qualities of carbon fiber as far as the hood goes, believe it was said that the aluminum hood acted as a heatsink for the evo as well as a form of weight reduction, be careful, function over form, but yeah a trunk lid would be tight

why do you need a CF hood again? isnt the stock one light enough? I wood like a CF lip for the front bumper(air splitter)...Ive seen one or 2 but they werent very attractive and didnt look all that functional

OK please talk to us. Plus take alook at these babies. Carbon door handles. I feel looking at the EVO from the sides it needs something. All one color. So maybe mirrors, or door handles or both. We do alot of kits and C-west is one of the best. Please let me know which material you want for your kit and I'll send you a price shipped. Chris if you need a Ralliart center console I'm getting some next week when I go to Japan.

First off - I don't read Japanese, so thanks anyway for that link...

As far as the parts go, it's part function, part look. I am not going to put any graphics on my car, so some other subtle, yet functional things to set it off would be nice.

As for the heat dissipation question, I doubt those big Japanese tuners would be using carbon fiber hoods if they caused the engine to overheat. The best one I've seen so far is from Bozz Speed - Evo 6 style with a NACA duct (like a Skyline GTR V-spec). Very good weave and fit.

Finally, Value, I would be interested in a CF console and any other CF replacements for the interior (ie not an overlay).

Chris did you see the pics I posted in the thread with the ugly overlays?? The dash trim and the door handles is one place I'm visiting this week when I leave for Yokohama. Here are a few pics of the Cwest EVO's i took at the TAS.

See? That car is sick - I am not trying to go overboard, but a nice CF hood and trunk, maybe those door handles, a splitter, and some real CF interior bits with aluminum shifter, brake and pedals would be sweet...

Anyone found a good place to get CF or Aluminum interior trim pieces. The interior dash looks cheap as hell.
