Here's my aftermarket HID install (the black box is the DS ballast)

Then before putting the bumper back on:

HIDs in a couple of different low light situations:

It's a little too blue for me and not bright enough on back roads. I don't have fog lights so I'm going back down to 5kor 6k.

i just got done installing a xenon depot 4300 kit. went pretty smoothly. bumper came off easy and the wiring is simple, all plug and play. mounted the drivers side ignitor/ballast on the top of the frame rail. no room to do that on the pass side due to a hard line, i think power steering, so i put it on the side of the rail. the double sided tape is gooooood, but just to be safe i wire tied the box to a hole in the frame rail. at least that way it wont fall out from under the car if it ever shakes loose. ill get pics and a short review up tomorrow!!!!!! ill like that review/pics in this thread so you guys can check them out. they look good. does anyone else get a fairly loud popping noise? didnt notice it when turning on but when you turn the lights off with the hood open you can hear a distinct pop. i figure its the ignitor or something, maybe the gas going out?

Yeah, 4300K is the rating a lot of manufacturers go with on a OE equipped HID vehicles.

I agree, but I don't like the "yellow'ish" output it gives on the ground, so I got 6000Ks which is white with some blue tint. It's decently brighter than 4300K on the ground IMO.

The beam being wider is because they have better optics, it's not from the bulbs. The evo's hid projectors are good, but there are a lot better hid projectors out there.

Yup, the S2K projectors is supposed to be the best single HID projectors out right now.

6000k would be the best and most reliable K for street use!
