edit:
also, did your system detect when the car was in reverse?
mine does, but i'm not positive on how to get it working. I posted this in the tech forum, but i dont think ill get much luck there.
the pioneer instructions state:
Violet/white
Of the two lead wires connected to the back lamp, connect the one in which the voltage changes when the gear shift is in the REVERSE (R) position. This connection enables the unit to sense whether the car is moving forwards or backwards.
im thinking this means, the positive lead into the reverse light in the tails?
hmm, dunno. after i get this sorted out - ill do the neccessary tap work.

BlackLancer2k2 that is the same unit that I have installed but I didn't get it for that price. If you don't mind me asking where did you purchase yours, I did a search and the cheapest place on the net was 1098.00. Regular retail is like 1899.99. I think that this one has the reverse hook up as well from what I remember, I will look to be sure.
Ok I have attached additional pics of my full install. I have located my "Brain" in the Glove box so it doesn't get exposed to other people kicking it and liquid, that could be water from Snow this winter or If someone happens to spill somthing.
There is a little room left but I don't plan on putting anything else in there for now, I am going to do some Temp testing and if it gets to warm I am going to tap into the Passanger side Air Vent but all has been fine for the past 3 days but I haven't pushed it that hard either. As for the stuff that would normally be in there my manual and docs I keep in a binder in my house that way every reciept and EVO Doc is all together along with maint. records and documented magazine reports.
I have an AVX P7300 unit
Hi just wanted to know if you had to buy a din mount kit to install your unit. and also where did u mount the brain. In the trunk or on the floor? I have a avx P7300 unit and would like to know this info before installing.
hahaha, I just found this thread! I bought the Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD about a week before this thread was posted up on ebay also, only I got mine brand new with waranty for $949 + shipping. It ended up being around $975 shipped. I thought it was a pretty good deal, especially for the all in one unit! Nice to see others with the same toys...

Currently They don't even make a DIN mount that I know of becasue the stock brackets work on ever install. The brain is in the glove box , pictures are posted above.

yes I didn't use the Din Box at all becasue I took the brackets that Bolt into the dash and on the side of the unit. The brackets are very hard to get off usually so just FYI. But they will secure your unit.
