Trunk lining Trouble

Hey guys, I was trying to take off the lining in the trunk so I could dynamat it but I realized when you press the tabs in, the middle part pops out of the back and drops into the trunk somewhere. All the tabs did that, is it normal?? As I recall, this type of tabs shouldn't pop off the back. It should be just like the two tabs for the air scoop on the intake box.......

If anyone know how to take off the whole lining please let me know.........I also couldn't take off the trunk latch plastic cover thing. I broke one of the round tabs for that.......

I removed the whole liner when installing my stereo / amp.

You just have to be careful when removing them. If you push them in carefully the center pin will stay and you pull out the fastner.

Once i removed a section I was able to get my hand behind the lining for most of them and just push the pin through into my other hand.

One fell, but I was easily able to get it. It took me about 15 minutes to get the whole liner out.

You will probably also have to remove the plastioc section located at the trunk latch. You can just pry it up.

Good luck

Yea jsut push them gentlely, just enough that the center part goes in and not all the way. BTW, anyone knows where I can get those black fasteners??? I've checked with my dealer and they dont carry them.

You said just to pry up the trunk latch part? But doesn't it have couple of round tabs on it? Don't you have to take them off first?
