Those things over the windows, with the holes in it, I have always thought they wre there for style, but it seems you can still roll down the window slightly? To let air in the holes? What is that thing for? thanks

do you have any pics of the tow hook mounted to the front crash beam? i've been wanting to mount one myself and i have an idea of how to do it, but i would like to have other references.

good luck with the build! the volks are one hot item, love looking at em in person.

i've always loved what m3this did to this car, looks like you're changing some things up, but still looks good!

I did not take any with the bumper off, but I will try and remember to do so soon. There are two existing holes in the bumper support and the tow hook I bought uses those two holes, plus a third one that you have to drill.

no worries about taking off the bumper...its a hassle what brand of tow hook did you get. looks like you didn't have to cut off too much of the small grill? just enough for the tow hook to fit through?

thanks in advance!

I actually bought it off of another user, eficker, who had a thread up in the marketplace section selling them and then I painted it myself. You are correct, I only had to cut a small section out of the mesh grill.

A little update for everybody...

The Evo and I went to Willow Springs this past weekend where on the third lap of the weekend the motor went south on me. It was a totally random deal, no extraordinarily extreme conditions. The CEL code read "Random Misfire" and there is rod knock in either cylinder 2 or 3. It happened at 5300rpm and I was only running low boost (13psi max) at the time because I didn't want the turbo pipe to blow off and I was just warming up.

The car is already down in San Diego with my mechanic to get further diagnosed and repaired. The bright side of things is that I will probably take this opportunity to build the motor with stronger, lighter parts to handle the power I have planned for this car in the future.

My task for today is to start my research and hopefully try and get a new sponsor or two to help offset the unexpected expense . The goal is to have the car back and ready for a test weekend I had planned for the 2nd weekend in March.

Damn, man. Sorry to hear about the car. Hope you have her back up for SMMR.

In the end, it's probably Kris' fault. He's really rough on stuff …

Hahaha, yeah he sold me a lemon....

I am really hoping for it to be back up for at least one weekend at SMMR. Thats my last chance to test 'n' tune before the first Redline TA.
