Question Black vs. Silver

I know, I know, waste of forum space???

I'm just having a tough time picking my color. The dealership is getting in a black and silver in 2 weeks. I've not seen silver other than in print yet. I've rejected yellow and blue and ... that red is just too ... red!

The black looks like it would shine up VERY nicely. I know it shows dirt quickly and the silver won't.

Any not-too-subjective opinions out there?

Thanks!

well I think that black show up scratches really easily so if you can make sure you wax it well and keep it up it no prob...but I know I get lazy sometimes so when I get mine....a more low maintenance color like silver or blue ;-)

I Have The Silver And Love it.. Yes The Black Would Shine Nicely but be warned it is very easy to get those nasty swirl marks. I have a thunder grey Oz as well and the dark color is a pain to keep clean, especially if it is a daily driver

I always wondered if black might increase the temperature in the engine compartment ( even by just a little). The engine runs hot enough, why put it under a black hood with the sun beating down on it.

Definately silver.
Black is great for show cars or cars that are rarely driven.
Silver looks good even when somewhat dirty.
Black shows swirls very easily.
Silver hides swirl marks very well.
If you don't think you will have swirl marks you will regret it.
Black only looks fabulous the day you detail it.
My 2 cents.

Let's put it this way...I ALMOST got the silver...loved the way it looked in the photos, but as soon as I saw the black Evo in person, there simply was no other choice! As Avatar sez, "Tarmac ownz!"

Personaly I like think black lots a lot better than silver... Hints why I bought black one. However I wash the car everyday I drive it befor I go somewhere. (not going overboard, but the car is really high matanice) *also note that I dont wash everytime I go somewhere like to work or get get a gallon of milk, as I rearly do (I have an old civic for that)..
But if your wanting to take a nice cruse in the middle of a great sat, and dont wanna look like a fool.. Better get your detailing tools out and wash/ scrub. W/ Black EVO!! It WILL show any marks, dirt, scratch, and finger prints etc.

Just ask yourself, Do I want to have to worry about makeing sure the car look great and wash ALL the time or do you just want to get in and go....

Black = high detail cleaning to look great aslo more time cleaning car.
silver = low detail cleaning to look great

Note I only drive my car on weekends and days off from work... Its not an everyday car so I like spending a fewdays and time after work cleaning the car. I dont mind the high mataniance of Black...
So all and all Get the color that works for you..
Logicly if your pressed for time get silver... Looks great and easy to clean..
If times seems to not be a worry then get black and shine it up.

More importantly, look at the two cars side by side and the one that pulls you in go for it... Its really up to you.

Happy shopping.

Blah blah blah about keeping it clean, if you get black Zaino brothers it twice over and california dust it there after unless it rains alot, black is bad ***, silver is OK but keep the tail on or it will look real plain jane also you will need to swap the rear tails on the silver to Evo 7 ones alteeza look real cheesy on the silver not so on the black. My view point.

You mean somebody still has altezzas on the Evo?! Whoa... thought all of us with a sense of whats played and whats not had already switched over...

Silver is cooler, silver is less likely to attract bad attention (cops), silver is much more elegant and stylish, and silver doesn't need washing every freakin day. Besides, its what I have so it must be the best color... heh

I had a silver car in the past and that car hid all sorts of dirt. It hid the dirt so well that I would brush up against the car and I would need to have my clothes laundered. I got the EVO in black. I love the way the car looks but I find myself always checking out the paint cause it looks like its got scratches on it and stuff. But the best part of the Tarmac color are the blue/purple speckles in the paint. A nice wash and wax and the Tarmac looks sexy enough to bone.

For a luxury car ... I would gte Silver in a heart beat (Mercedes. Lexus and Jaq look great in Silver) ... but a sportscar ... I say let it stand out a little.
