Hey guys,


I've had my Evo for about 10,000 miles and I can't STAND the crappy back lighting for the guages. The uneven red at night dance when I have my glasses on. It there any way to replace the bulb in the back with a higher watt version?

I'm assuming your guage light is turned up all the way

 

If i ever get one im going to try to replace it with a blue LED.. goto the HOWTO forms, there's a bunch of info there on stuff like this

 

kinda ricey, but I want indiglo guages.....so nice and easy on the eyes

I bet there will be reverse indiglos for them. I wonder if they have it for the regular lancers. If so, we can use them too.

 

I wish it had guages like the STi. Those are really nice!

 

The stock dash lights are really dim, thats for sure. I wonder if the Ralliart white faced gauges are any better?

Hmmmmmmm.... I can hear my conversation with my wife now " Boy these stock gauges seem to be making my vision worse, guess I will have to sell the EVO and buy an M5... or... hey? perhaps I could just upgrade to the new and improved Ralliart gauge set for only $600.00 !".

Just kidding of course, no one would stoop that low....right?? ;-)

 

Reverse indiglo sounds interesting!
I will look into it, and yes the lights are on the highest settings.

P.S. This would be a GREAT idea for vendors to offer a kit, I would be the first one in line!

 

Yeah, I'd like to get better gauges...the red is kind of dim...

 

Hopefully the 2004 models will have revised gauges that we could up grade to.

 

If anyone finds a "HOW TO" on this topic, please post the link. I've looked all over for it. Even though I don't have an EVO, I'm still trying to prepare for when I get one. That way I know how to make be what I want it to be. Ya heard!!!
