My bro, while checking his cabin air filter, decided to check mines as well to see how it was.


Car is a 2006 MR, and has 21,000 miles on it

The findings were sickening.. Can't believe I'm breathing this stuff in!



But first, for those who don't know how to access it, it's a quick 2 min install.

1. take out your glove box, and you'll see a white plastic cover with two screws.
2. unscrew the 2 screws, and pull out the filter.
3. replace with new filter, and reverse the removal process

Now keep in mind this used to be pure white...





Can't believe I was breathing all this crap in..










And here's the new replacement..
Some time ago, Mitsu decided to offer some better quality cabin air filters, and the color is grey now instead of the white that they used to offer.

Also, I must thank Josh (mitsuorder) for hooking me up with the OEM cabin air filter at a great price, I had it in almost no time Thanks Josh, you the man!

I'm not exactly sure that the early 03's came with the filters in the car.

The 03's did not come with one i beleive. Search on these forums, you'll find some more info on making custom filters, basically the area is there, there is just no cutout or something.

I would hate to see what it looks like if you live in Cali. It'll probably have a thick yellow tint to it.

 

You mean w/ all the environmental controls, there is actually pollution in the air there?!?

 

joetlc.com sells them for 14 bucks that's where i get mine, too bad it doesn't make it smell like new car smell

LanEvoNine the ones on that site (joetlc.com) dont look like the above one in there pic. When you got yours did it look like the one above?
