just ordered mine... so thats where the funny smell came from.

 

Not sure if anyone else has done this on an Evo, but when I changed the filter on my girl's Rabbit, I sprayed Lysol into the little door before putting the new filter in, to kill the smell. Make sure you wear a mask, Lysol is not your eye's friend. Oh, and make sure someone else has done it on an Evo before so you know it won't mess anything up. I'm not responsible if it does, lol.
