hmm thats weird. My cabin filter from Joetlc is the same one in the picture posted earlier. I had no problem with the extra mounting hole. The stock screws bolted it in just like the old oem filter.

Yea, well you can mount it upside down. Not sure if it matters. I was nervous about being in dusty conditions. I figured that that big piece of plastic on the back of the filter was supposed to go in a certain way.. not sure if it matters though.

43 at the dealership for the white one or the carbon one? You can get the white ones at lancershop.com for less than 20 bucks.

Wow, I almost been had! My Mitsu dealer was asking for $77 bucks for the OEM cabin filter. I told then to stuff that original back into the slot and I will take care of it.

You should see some that come in my work. Sometimes mice get in there and make a huge nest and its nasty. Sometimes they end up in the blower and die. Horrible smell... I would change them ever 15k.

I just changed mine after 12k miles this past weekend and i found a bug... or what looks like a roach... I have NO IDEA where it came from Never seen roaches around my home or in my home so i'm guessing it must've crawled in when i was parked somewhere i guess.

Anyone know if JoeTLC.com sells genuine Mitsu parts for the cabin air filter (MR398288) and engine air filter (MR552951 on their website, they prob haven't converted to the new part # MZ690193)?

My guess is no since it's so cheap and not exactly the same as shown in the pic earlier in this thread.

true story! well, it didn't make a nest but a little mousey got into my blower/fan somehow on my 2nd gen Gs-t. One day my car smelled literally like death! I was like "what the hell is that?!?!". Drove around like that a couple days until someone suggested that...would have never thought....and man was it a pita to get the fan out of that thing to....wish I still had the picture...mouse was smashed into the blades....stinky!

EV0lved, I got an 03 also. There's a space for the cabin filter but Mitsu left a thin plastic cover where the slot should be... just cut it out and the cabin filter will fit. Worked perfectly for me.

Here's the how to: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh....php?p=1007153
