Smile Aftermarket gauges & placement

Hi everyone.

Well, I finally collected some money and decided to buy some Defi gauges for my Evo. So, I bought Boost, Exhaust Temp, Fuel Press, and Oil Press gauges. I was told by many that these 4 are very important in an evo. So I have 4 60mm gauges, and I have to mount them somehow.

I bought a GReddy pillar to hold 2 of them, but I still have another 2 to install, and I might buy an oil press and water temp gauge in a month or so to complete the set

Keeping that in mind, i'll end up with an additional 4 meters to place.

Can you guys show me pictures on how you mounted your meters in your evo, or how you've seen someone else mount their meters? I want them to be functional, in view of the driver, but at the same time, improve the appearance of the interior of the car.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

due to wir lengths the easiest place to put them would be in the glove box there are a few ways to mount them. on www.carbontrix.com they have both cf and fg pods that will fit in the glove box they also have an insert for the glove boxthat sits flush @ www.roadracemotorsports.com

here pic of my Defi:
temp on center, pressure on pods:
I lower profile rails for my Recaros; So I really can't put anything on top on my dash. Hence, the no placment of a Tach. Besides, I always felt tha big-*** Tach on the dash looked....well, (pardon the pun) Tacky

I'm having basically same headache figuring out where to mount gauges.

WRX/STi has that nice/neat center pod dash, Evo unfortunately doesn't. That means at least a wire must be dangling down if mounted on the dash, just like the attached pic. Very unsightly IMHO!

Another neat solution would be mounting them on the A-pillar but I think there's only space for 3 gauges.

I'm planning to go to the Defi Link Display route, mounting it somewhere in the upper DIN space.

thanks for the replies. I would love to mount one of my gauges on the steering wheel column, but unfortunately with the evo 6's (and 5's and 4's) mounting a gauge there renders your speedo useless (especially a defi meter, since it sits high in its own cup + stand), which is why I need to look elsewhere. Right now, i'm thinking of just putting them all on the middle of the dashboard, since i'm going to be buying a "jdm" Safety21 6-point rollcage - basically, meaning that i wont be able to use a pillar anymore, since it will be in the way of the rollcage.
