I disagree I think They Lacked The Stereo... They should have put one of the infinity systems in it like they do for some other cars they have.. could not have cost that much more to do. I am going to upgrade my stock speakers because with the windows down crusing the hwy i can barley hear them

same as the stock stereo in the lancer. i was pretty impressed to, for it being a fairly simple setup. one set of stock speakers i removed even had a rubber surround. very nice indeed (but of course, had to go).

Yeah, I think they are lowsy also. However, if you replace the stock head unit, you definately will get a better sound even with the stock speakers. I just installed an ALPINE CDA-7863 60w x4 and my stock system sounds alot better.

Don't care much for the stock speakers, I do like the deck though. I already have 4 Alpine 6.5" and 2 Alpine 1" tweeter speakers for my car, need to get an amp before I install. And soon after will be a sub in the trunk! Oh ya, my EQ will be going in as well!

I think stock stereo is alright if you listen to raps and some r&bs (sounds alot better to me than a stock system in my S2000). But if you listen to jazz and some other stuff that demand good mid-range, then stock speakers will have to go. I installed a pair of Polk audios with stock HU and they sound much better now. I still have to get rid of those rear speakers though.

yeah, just like with a pioneer hu. i don't think its so much the stereo is too quiet, more that the lancer/evo gets a TON of wind noise and motion in the car with all the windows down.
