anyone spray painted their intercooler piping or intercooler? if so what type of spray paint you used. Also does this affect the performance?

 

If you are going to spray the IC, dust coat (very light) with radiator paint. Do what you want to with the pipes.

 

using normal spray paint will hinder the intercoolers performance. You might be able to get away with the above mentioned radiator paint.
also others have recently been getting theirs anodized with no ill affects

 

Don't paint it...the only and best way to do it is to have it anodized.

why do you want to paint the intercooler so bad? It may not look good with just the pipes

YOU DO NOT WANT TO SPRAY PAINT I/C PIPING.

it puts a thick coating of material that is much more susceptible to attracting AND retaining heat.

if your I/C piping is aluminum you can anadize that as well.


keep in mind anodizing is offered in almost any color. bright ones, dark ones, etc, etc. not just black (although it seems to be the most common) and it will look alot better than paint as well as last ALOT longer.
