installing G3 carbon fiber hood !!!

well I am in the process of installing the hood right now. The verdict is in.

Stock hood 22 pounds
carbon hood 23.5 pounds

If you will be getting a hood it will just be for looks becuase the stock hood is damn light.

This pics are not the best it was rainy and cloudy which was putting out glares. I will try to get better pics. This was also before I had the hood touched up perfectly. I will get some better pics soon. But I promised some pics so here, sorry for quality

The carbon hood is just a bit heavier, but it looks cool

Most carbon fiber hoods that I have seen are made to be inexpensive, not light. If excess resin is not removed by proper methods, a carbon fiber hood can be the same or heavier than stock, especially when the stock hood is so light. I dont know the cost of the G3, but in general you get what you pay for. With this kind of product its important to find out the weight in advance, and know the companys history for what kind of markets they cater to (racing vs car show).

nice timing

I just logged on the come ask the question if anyone has installed a C/F hood on their EVO yet... I guess Im just going to have to wait and see what you say...

G3 has been selling theirs on eBay for a while now and that caught my eye... There's also another company named Seibon (www.seibon.com) that is making hoods, but haven't hear anything, good or bad about the...

Sano - When you have everything installed PLEASE pictures!!!!

I would love to see it on black. It just don't make sense to me to spend that much when it does nothing then again I am buying the JDM tails.

I will have pics of the rally red evo with carbon fiber hood tomarrow.

It will be hard for anything to weigh less than the factory hood!!! when I took it off it was damn light. If the carbon fiber hood was any lighter it would sacrafice structral support and could possiblly rattle, flap, or whatever other bad things that can happen.

I think it looks pretty good. Pics tomarrow!!!!

Please tell me what mods that needed to be done for it. My G3 Carbon Fiber hood should be here in a week! I was hoping the install would be painless...
