according to the "Tricked Out Edition" of the Fast and the Furious, the trend these days are 18's

personally, 17's are big enough for me, but if I had the money and a car that could handle them without major modification I would get 18's

Me personally, I'd get the 18's with a smaller tire you can stay pretty close to the circumference of the stock rims/tires

My opinion

First have to look out your local road condition , smooth like airport track or pothole everywhere .

Second once you run into big pothole or big bump you not only lose a tire but the wheel too .

17's...everything in the suspension and handling was designed around them. Far be it from me to mess that up only to spend more on wheels and tires.

17's all the way. Unless you want a huge wheel repair bill. If you plan on lowering the car, the 18's will make it really really tight. Lowered 17's look great. Plus better ride. BTW if you need 17's let me know.

17's will keep your speedo more accurate, but if you like to show the BLING BLING, go for 18, just be aware of possible rubbing if you lower and try to turn and for gods sake, take speedbumps SLOW! heh

Why does anyone want to put 18's? It will take tons of effort for rotational mass. Look at cars that come stock w/ 18's. What's their TQ rating.

Has anyone ever seen a civic w/ 18's? Get behind one. It's as slow normally off the line as a BMW 318.

Volks. Most people can't afford the price of a down payment. Besides, w/ 18's, most average rims weight around a whopping 25-30 lbs per wheel. 17's weights somewhere in the 20's lbs. Do the math for the amount of TQ need to rotate them for getting onto the interstate.

I would say an evo has plenty of power to put on 18's without much difference.

and they look nicer.
not everyone is into getting 10 second cars.
