New wheels. Pics to come.
Hmm. Seems like a good wheel for the price. Only 16lbs and around $175 a piece. What did you pay? I noticed they also come in hyperblack...thst'd be a nice color for my silver Evo..that or just plain silver
I think I still like the Gram Light 57s a little better though..but they also cost more at $250+ per wheel.

I paid like $800 for the set. Pretty good for a 16lb wheel. I wasn't sure how gunmetal the hyper black is, so I just went matt black.
I never really liked silver on silver, so I wasnted something darker.
Trbo_Dad has a bronze set on his red Evo and they look really good.

Which ones..the 5Zigen or the Gram Lights?
The 5Zigens are available in 18" Check this link: http://www.5zigenusa.com/pages/wheels/fn01rc.html
The Gram Light 57s wheels aren't available in 18"
There are a bunch of places that carry 5Zigens.
I know value can get the Gram Lights 57s for $1050 a set.
The 5Zigens will range from $700-$900
The 5Zigens are about a pound lighter. I guess it just depends on which one you like better
I'm waiting to hear some final things from value..such as, details on centercaps for the Gram Lights, etc. There would also be a little wait for the Gram Lights (4weeks)

Sorry instigator for not responding, I just got your email. I do have these wheels in a 17 x 9 in the dark bronze color. I like them. I have been using them for my street wheels, but will be using them for autox only next season (in E street prepared). They mark fairly easily, but not bad. They are great for the price.
Good choice in color for the silver Evo.

Do you have any pics now that they are mounted?
Hey trbo,
I recently found out that I will be a dad as well.
At first I was thinking about $300/wheel, then 250/wheel, but now these 5zigens seem more like the right price, heh.
Did you need to get the 9 inch wide to fit? It seems like the 17x8 would fit, right?
Also, I agree with you on 17s. Bigger wheels will ride even worse and probably weigh more. Even if they weigh less, there is probably more rotational inertia since the weight is further out. 18s might look better but I don't really care, heh. Besides, they would cost more. I have always wanted black rims too, so you can't see the brake dust, lol.
Finally, who has good deals on these wheels? I checked wheelmax.com but there may be better places, preferably that can ship with mounted/balanced tires.
I lied, one more question: Are these wheels fairly strong? They're cast and lightweight, but hopefully stout enough?
Thanks,
FB
