Hey man...

Mine did the EXACT same thing! I have not got around to fixing them yet but when I do, I am going to put the 3M stoneguard on the car and then I won't have to worry about it.

Just suck it up and realize that it is going to happen no matter what. The only thing you can do to stop it is the stoneguard and I dont know if that is a viable option for you or not.

I didn't get those on my bumper. I had a few rocks hit me on the side while on the freeway, but they just scraped off my coats of wax. But a few days ago, a huge *** rock smacked into my left back door and left a dent and a scratch.

Arghhh...I took my time today washing/waxing my car again, only to find more rock chips. They're not nearly as bad, but still. Some areas have very small dents in the paint, where the rocks hit them. So today, the hood, bumper and side mirrors got a 3 coat wax treatment .

I'd be mad if that happened to my car.

I really think this problem should be a warranty issue. These chips on my car are NOT regular chips...it literally looks like the paint did not cure well/long enough on the car before they cleared it. I used to work at a body shop and was taught to look for these things. I know it would probably NEVER fly at a dealer, but it might be worth a shot and something I will look into this week. Thoe I dont know what to tell you except to try the same. But I am with you on this -- it honestly isn't natural but it has happening to more than just a small amount which means it probably isn't driver error.

Maybe we should get a running list of everyone having this problem and submit to Mits? I dont know?

I agree, my other car of 10years does not have any kind of paint shed like that. It's been thru a beating. It's got the usual wear and tear rock chips, but not a shed like this. This is like peeling an orange or something. I've got a couple more in other spots of the car too, and it's just like a skin peel.

I don't even wanna waste time at the dealer, cuz I know what they're gonna say already. "Hello, our service sucks, have a nice day."

LOL...yea...you are exactly right. I need to up there this week sometime and buy an oil filter and I might get the EVO service tech to come out and look at it and see what he says just for ****s and giggles -- if for some odd reason he decides to pursue it as warranty, I will let you know and maybe he can put a call in to your dealer or something.

But I am totally with you here. I have driven many other cars on the EXACT same roads I am driving the EVO and the EVO looked worse after 1000 miles than my Z28, SS, or GT looked after 7 or 8 thousand each.
